Baseball Rec League
Our Rec League is designed to provide a fun, positive, and supportive environment where players can learn and grow through the game of baseball. We focus on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and building confidence at every level. Our goal is to help every player improve while developing a lifelong love for the game.
Ages
Baseball:
A player is placed into the league based on the grade they were in this year.
Beginners Tee Ball (PreK-K)
Coach Pitch (1st-2nd Grade)
Minors (3rd - 4th Grade)
Majors (4rd Grade – 6th Grade)
Babe Ruth League (7th Grade - 8th Grade)
Baseball Example: If your child was in 3rd grade, they will play Minors.
Softball:
Based on age as of September 1, 2025

Softball Example: If your child was 12 at the start of the school year, but turned 13 in October, they would be in 12U this year.
When
Rec leagues will run from Early May until Late June.
Note: There will be a skills expo to help determine teams in April. With practices beginning after that.
Where
Most baseball events will be held at Hodag Park. All games will be played in Rhinelander
While most softball events are held at the softball fields behind the dome. For games, softball teams will travel to neighboring communities.
Note: Specific practice and game locations will be shared at a later date.
Practices
Each coach will determine their own teams practice schedule.
Practices will typically last between 90 minutes and 2 hours.
Games
Each league will have their own designated nights of the weeks to play games. Typically, either Monday/ Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Most of our leagues will avoid playing Friday-Sunday due to travel team commitments.
Jerseys
Each child will be provided with a jersey and a hat (baseball only).
Families will be responsible for purchasing pants for their child. Your coach will be communicating the color.
Softball players will wear black pants.
Extra Costs
Any additionally personal player equipment will be the only other additional costs to families.
Teams will have helmets for players to use.
Examples: Bat, Helmet, Elbow guards.

Does my child need to play Rec to play Travel?
At this time, we do require players who want to play Travel to play Rec as well.
T-Ball
T-Ball is for ages 4 and 5. An introduction to baseball skills. Fielding and hitting.
RegisterCoach Pitch
Our coach pitch league builds on the foundations learned in t-ball. The tee goes away and the kids start to see pitches coming at them from a coach. We continue to build on our hitting and fielding skills at this age group.
RegisterMinors
The Minors divison is designed for kids in 3rd and 4th grade. We continue to work on baseball fundamentals and introduce kids to pitching.
RegisterMajors
The Majors division is for kids entering 5th and 6th grades. This division is more competitive as the kids have learned the basic tenants of baseball over the years. New for this year is playing in a joint league with teams from Tomahawk.
